Our VBS theme this year is “I Wonder.” Each day we’re incorporating some of our favorite VBS activities such as Bible, games, worship, snack, and a take-home activity. Children will be challenged each day to dive deeper into three questions:

Q: I wonder what makes my story unique?

A: The Bible teaches us that we are created and saved by God. Ephesians 2:4-10

Q: I wonder what gifts God gave me to help others?

A: Using gifts from God to love like God I Peter 4:10-11, I John 4:11 and I Peter 4:8

Q: I wonder how I can spend time with God?

A: We can live for God and talk to him through prayer Colossians 1:9-12, Colossians 3:16 and Colossians 4:2-3

Each day, we’ll use hands-on science activities to communicate God’s Word and have an interaction with our Bible Bot to help us look at Scripture.

We’re asking a parent/adult to stay with children this year. Bring a blanket or lawn chairs and experience VBS together. Personally, I learn something new about God’s Word every single time that I teach, and I know that you will as well. We’ll ask families to sit together and participate as a family group, whether it’s playing a game, creating a yummy snack, or opening the Bible.

Parents, you may be asking an “I wonder” question of your own, like, “I wonder why we’re doing a backyard experience again this year?”

  • It allows for those who aren’t comfortable gathering inside to still participate.
  • It allows for Mount Carmel families to exercise their spiritual gift of hospitality. They can host in their yard or driveways and invite neighbors to come to a nearby location.
  • It allows for connection.  Our ministry team can visit our VBS locations and interact personally, meeting neighbors and friends who may not attend church.
  • It fosters spiritual discipleship where parents attend with their children. Instead of dropping your children off at the church and wondering what they’re experiencing, you’ll be able to participate together.

Are you ready?

We can’t wait to see you, friends!

With Joy,

Lisa
