I love this time of year. Warm temperatures are making their way back to our area, trees are budding and blooming, and leaves from spring bulbs are rising from the earth. These are all great signs that the cold and gray winter is subsiding, and the light, color and warmth of spring are on the way.

I also like this time of year because the Easter season draws near. The day we celebrate our Savior’s victory over death is the highlight of our church year! This year, Easter is April 17.

Easter week at Mount Carmel is always special, and this year is going to be no different. Here’s how you can get plugged into what’s going on that week.

Easter week kicks off with a Family Ministry Event, ‘Journey to the Cross’ on April 9 at 9:30 am. On that same day, there is a Men’s Ministry Hiking Event at East Fork Lake at 9:00 am, and an event to help mulch the church flower beds at 1:00 pm. You can register for all three of these by going to our website: mtcarmelchurch.org and clicking on events.

On Friday 15 at 6:00 pm, Aaron Adams will be leading us in a Good Friday experience. This is a great service to attend to prepare your heart and mind for Easter Sunday. The Good Friday service will be streamed to ChurchOnline, live.mtcarmelchurch.org, and our YouTube channel.

And on April 17, at 8:00 am, 9:30 am and 11 am, we will be having our Easter services. Each service will be identical and will be held on campus as well as streamed to our online participants. We hope that you will join us for one of the 3 services! While there is no need to register for any of these services, experience has taught us that the 9:30 am service tends to be most crowded followed by the 11:00 am. If you’d like to attend a less crowded service, the 8:00 am service would be the one of choice.

Easter weekend postcards are a great way to invite friends and family to Easter services. Make sure to pick up one or more of the postcards that we’ll have on the communion tables this weekend. The card has the family event, Good Friday, and Easter services highlighted.

Holiday seasons can be a tough time for some. If you or a member of your family need prayer support during this season, you can let us know by filling out our prayer and connect form. Your prayer request will be forwarded to our staff, elders and prayer team.

If you have questions about any of our services or events, you can send an email to office@mountcarmel.cc or give us a call at 513-528-0230.

It is our hope that you and your family have a happy and joyous Easter week!

Blessings – Jeff Perrine
